Retention is tough

By August 11, 2024 No Comments

Retention has become tougher than at any time in the past and is a major concern for many organsiations, especially in the hospitality and NFP sectors.

Companies are having to consider offering more in terms of benefit packages or incentives, because people are increasingly looking for jobs that reduce their risks during these tough economic times.

As a result, strategies to retain key employees from entry level to upper-level management by taking appropriate steps that are unique to the business to retain these top individuals are key.

This might be the time to consider merit pay increases, projects that increase an employee’s responsibilities, upskilling and other benefits such as flexible working hours, telecommuting or upgrading technology to keep employees happy.

HR professionals need to understand what motivates their employees in order to inspire them and ensure sufficient coaching to trigger the passion in the team and to enhance the culture of the organisation.

A well thought out online recognition platform is one way to differentiate yourself from the competition, as this could be a key strategy to inspire staff and reduce turnover.

After all, if you don’t value your top performers, your competitors will.
